Gaijin made a choice to go small boats because they weren't confident that either they could get big ships right or that players would find big ships done quasi realistically interesting enough to play. Will battles be restricted to the number of units built i.I've only done the starting boats but if this is supposed to be the first thing someone is supposed to experience and represent what comes later, then it is a bit underwhelming. Ships is going to be different? Could be interesting when all 3 modes are integrated.Īlso, the primary difference between tanks/planes and ships is the number of ships built. Units that never historically met each other in combat. is there information from Gaijin that WT Ships is going to have the realism that is missing from both Aircraft and Tanks? With both planes and tanks Different eras/nations of units are fighting in the same battles. Still, cruisers and destroyers are really powerful in the game, especially cruisers because of their rate of fire. There won't be any aircraft carriers, and only a few battleships. The rest are borrowed US and UK ships, repatriated German and Italian ships, and Czarist era dreadnaughts. I like to see a Soviet line, though there isn't that much of it except for a credible line of cruisers and destroyers that were designed with Italian help, and which are rightly formidable. The Murmansk cruiser is certainly strong right now, but this Soviet cruiser is really nothing more but a borrowed US Omaha class cruiser with the same specs. It would be interesting to see if WoWs will fall into the same Russians are Stronk bias that plagues WoT and WT. The bombers are a blend of two things that are worst in WoT and WT, which is artillery and again, bombers, though this is expected to be countered with AA and carrier fighters. The dive bombers don't really annoy me that much, its the torpedo bombers, which can manually drop their loads with no minimal distance. Similar to WT, the capping area is a death wish and a trap. One is those Domination modes most won't bother to cap, except for a brave if not foolish few. There is a couple of things that annoy me in WoWs, because it so reminds me of the annoying things in WT. Much like WT GF RB but a bit more challenging. WoWs does not have any lead indicators like the WT AF, nor does it have this point and outline thing you see with WoT, WT GF Arcade mode, and even AW (Armored Warfare).Īll the shooting is done by estimate, experience and guesstimate. Its a healthbar adventure, but not necessarily easy point and click. WoWS is a (boring) point&click healthbar adventure.īut based on the awful state of GF, you're nuts if ships will come in a playable state within a few years. Then comes the kamikazes or the waves of B-17s that will be dropping bombs on your ships. I am all for the idea of Gaijin developing Naval Forces. If you want to be realistic, lets put back the swastikas on the German tanks and planes, and even the Hammer and Sickle on the Soviet planes and tanks.ģ. I don't really hear a lot of people complain about the removal of the Rising Sun flag at all in the WoWs forums, which I also frequent. I didn't realize that kamikaze by aircraft is such a prevalent, popular and common tactic in tank warfare.Ģ. Or heck so is the ability to warp from a tank to a plane instantly and back again. So are enormous numbers of Tiger tanks on both sides, T-54s fighting Tigers, and Japanese marked B-17s trying to kamikaze on you. Well I am sure German and Soviet tanks fighting in a Pacific island is pretty realistic also. Note- of course I want ships to, but ground forces and air forces need to be better than they are now before ships.ġ. Sp please, don't start a topic saying that because WoWS is out that Gaijin should ignore GF bugs and AF bugs and start more work on ships Well, I don't actually have a 3rd reason but the other 2 are pretty good. Many will come when they here that they will be able to captain a FULLY realistic IJN ship, instead of missing historical accuracy.ģ. Rising Sun Flag and other points of Realism- I have read on the WoWS forum that many are upset about the removal of the Rising Sun Flag from WoWS except the EU server. Yamato around fictional Arctic islands.Ģ. There are many history buffs atracted to WoWS, but I am almost sure they would prefer to play Japan vs. Yamato sailing next to Iowa is not realism. BUT Many are not only interested in combat, they want realism. Realism- Many people are craving a naval combat MMO right now, and many will rush to WoWS for action. I am here to tell you 3 reasons why Gaijin will not have to speed up the development of ships due to the imaginary threat of player base loss.ġ.
